Q. Why was MathStar created?

MathStar was born out of frustration with existing tools. As a software engineer and a parent, I believed I could create something better. What started as a small hobby project quickly evolved after I began seeing positive results with my own family. Motivated by the improvement I saw in my child’s learning experience, I shared it with friends, who found it equally helpful. Realizing that this tool could benefit other families seeking to support their children’s math skills, I decided to bring MathStar to a wider audience.

Q. What standards does MathStar use?

MathStar uses the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM) as the basis for the skills proficiency standard at each grade level. More information can be found at: Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.

Q. How is AI used?

AI is used in several areas including question generation, providing step by step explanations on how to answer a question, and in determining which foundational skills should be learned to improve scores in a particular areas.

Q. Why isn't it free?

Developing a high-quality math learning tool requires significant time and effort. The mission is to create an exceptional, ad-free experience for both students and their parents. To maintain this quality and support ongoing improvements, a monthly subscription helps cover operational costs and ensures the platform continues to evolve.
